Restoring Balance: The Healing Power of Nature and Herbs

Nature offers a natural remedy for healing and renewal. I have many favorite places I seek out when I need to unwind or feel more grounded. One such place is Campbell’s Covered Bridge—a tranquil setting that feels both nostalgic and comforting. The gentle bubbling of the creek and the dancing reflections on its surface invite peaceful contemplation. We each need to find these special places, and even if they’re far from home, we can carry them in our hearts to return to whenever we need.

I love the changing seasons, especially the shifting colors of fall leaves alongside dried flowers that silhouette the landscape. Nature, like a warm embrace, reminds us that change is inevitable—something not to be feared, but embraced for the transformative power it holds. Of course, there are times when life’s demands drop us right into the middle of chaos. Activities and responsibilities pop up all around, and if we aren’t able to center ourselves, anxiety and tension can start to take over. When stress persists, when we push ourselves too hard, skip meals, or lack sleep, our nervous system becomes worn down. In these moments, it’s crucial to provide your body with the nutrients it needs to restore balance.

Two of my favorite supplements for calming the mind and body are Anxiousless and Kava Kava. Together, they create a soothing energy that eases tension and promotes relaxation. Recently, I found myself feeling unusually anxious. I hadn’t been able to spend time in nature, and my subconscious thoughts seemed more like enemies than guides. Unmerited fears kept surfacing, and I would wake up in the night with my mind spinning after disturbing dreams. That’s when I knew it was time to bring in my secret weapons. I started taking Anxiousless and Kava Kava three times a day and made sure to go for a walk in nature daily. The supplements made a quick and noticeable difference. I couldn’t help but think, “If more people knew about these, there’d be far less need for medications.” These are natural remedies, designed by our Creator, to support and rebalance the body. Within a few days, I felt my old perspective returning, along with my enthusiasm for life and its challenges. My sleep improved, and I felt “happy” again. I am forever grateful for my herbal knowledge and the wisdom I’ve gained over the years.

Nature’s Sunshine’s unique patented formula, Anxiousless, combines Zembrin (Sceletium tortuosum extract), the amino acid L-theanine, and magnesium. This synergistic combination is more effective than the individual components alone. Many of my clients have shared how quickly they feel the results with this formula. When I combined it with Kava Kava, which helps balance the neurotransmitter GABA to calm a busy mind, the effects were even more noticeable. Kava Kava  lifts the moods, calms anxiety, and improves mental focus while relaxing the mind at the same time. Kava has a long history of use in the Pacific islands. The kava roots are ground and soaked to create a beverage which is very relaxing. The use of kava as a ceremonial beverage goes back 3000 years. Today many cities have kava bars popping up as an alternative place to hang out with friends, without alcohol. We have one in our city; they are very popular with the younger generation. Be sure to check the links to these products for more information, and feel free to reach out if you have any questions about their use.

When creating a stress-support program, I also recommend including a good B-complex or Nutri-Calm (a B-complex with a base of herbs traditionally used to manage stress, along with Vitamin C to support adrenal function).

I hope this information is helpful and gives you valuable insights on how to better support your busy life.
